Inside the Process: How Your Placenta Encapsulation Is Prepared
When choosing placenta encapsulation, knowing how your placenta is cared for brings complete peace of mind. I use the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) method of placenta encapsulation. Every step of my process follows strict safety protocols, OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards, food safety guidelines, pharmaceutical-grade sanitation, and deep respect for your body.
Here is a look at my professional 12-step process to safely prepare your recovery capsules and keepsakes.
Step 1: Secure Identification & Safety Inspection. Upon arrival at our South Jordan workspace, your placenta is immediately labeled with your client ID. This label remains attached throughout every stage, ensuring complete personal safety and zero risk of mix-ups.
Step 2: Gentle Cleansing, Cord Removal & Optional Art Print. Your placenta is gently cleansed with cold, filtered water to prepare it for preservation. If you selected a cord keepsake, the umbilical cord is carefully removed at this time. If you added our custom Art Print, we create a food-safe print on heavyweight paper using natural beet powder, watercolors, and hand-drawn birth month flowers to capture your placenta’s unique "Tree of Life."
Step 3: *Traditional Chinese Method Preparation. Lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and ginger are added to the raw placenta to support restorative balance and healing for a newly postpartum body.
Step 4: *Pharmaceutical-Grade Steaming. The placenta steams for 30 minutes. By doing this, it rids the placenta of any type of bacteria, virus, or infection and makes it safe to consume. I use the exact same rigorous safety process that pharmaceutical companies use.
Step 5: Slicing on Titanium. Once steamed, the placenta is carefully cut into smaller pieces on a titanium surgical-grade board.
Step 6: Professional Dehydration. The pieces are placed onto a professional-grade dehydrator. The full dehydration process runs smoothly overnight at a controlled temperature to ensure complete dryness and total shelf stability.
Step 7: Piece Inspection & Tincture Prep. I perform a thorough inspection of all dried pieces (including the cord if an umbilical keepsake was added). If a tincture was ordered, a dedicated piece of the placenta is set aside here.
Step 8: Fine Milling & Grinding. The dried pieces are transferred into our grinder and processed into a fine, exceptionally smooth powder.
Step 9: Capsule Filling & Custom Herb Upgrade. Using precise professional equipment, the powder is transferred into capsules. During this step, per mother’s request, specialized herbs are added as an upgrade according to mom's specific postpartum needs for targeted added benefits.
Step 10: Sealing & Stuffing. The capsules undergo our meticulous sealing process and are securely stuffed to lock in absolute freshness that can last well beyond the postpartum recovery phase.
Step 11: Eco-Glass Packaging & Tincture Extraction. Everything is carefully packaged into proper glass storage for your convenience. If you ordered a tincture, the set-aside pieces are prepped using the highest quality grain alcohol for proper, long-lasting extraction of its concentrated essence.
Step 12: Medical-Grade Sanitation. Between every single client, our workspace and equipment undergo rigorous pharmaceutical-grade and OSHA-compliant sanitation because I take your health and safety incredibly seriously. I process only one placenta at a time for complete focus, zero risk of cross-contamination, and absolute purity.
*Steps 3 & 4 are skipped when client chooses the Raw Dehydration Method, which can yield more capsules.
Delivery & Pick-Up
Drop-Off: Have a support person drop off your chilled placenta at our South Jordan location (or select our $50 local courier option).
Turnaround: Standard turnaround is one week (rush options available).
Pick-Up: Your designated person picks up your finished package so you can focus entirely on your newborn.
